Baby Felix Grown Up

Baby Felix

Baby Felix

In past stories about the Baby Felix (see links below), I have shared with you some of his exploits. Since that time, I have a brief story that you might enjoy.

Since we had Felix in our home, he has typically only slept next to my wife. However, these past few weeks he has been very affectionate towards me regarding morning attention.

Over the last few weeks, Felix will climb up on the bed and lay on top on me. The attention is enjoyed, but he does weigh some 30 plus pounds. So when something that big decides to flop down, you feel it.

At first, I could not figure out this change in behavior. Finally, I realized that the same night that Felix started to lay on top of me (and go to sleep sometimes), I begun giving him treats before I would go to bed.

When I stopped giving him treats, he stopped laying on top of me. Needless to say, I stopped with the late treats, and slept a whole lot better. But I did miss that special attention.

Fun facts about the baby Felix:

  • Felix can reach and open the screen door (41-inches from the ground).

  • Felix can jump up to and into the basement window casement (six feet from the ground).

  • Felix measures an astounding 16-inches in height.

  • Felix is a chatty beast, he probably talks at more than most people.
Felix is my best buddy, and I love him very much.

I hope you enjoyed the continuing exploits of the Baby Felix.

Felix is 36-inches in length from head to tail.

lovely boy

I loved your story about Felix and the treats. Our cats get treats every morning but they get them usually from their dad. If Im not at work then I get to help out with the festivities. He sure is a great looking cat.

A grateful cat
by: Finn Frode, Denmark

Hi Chris. I always enjoy seeing and hearing more about Baby Felix. Thank you for the update.
Be happy Felix is such a grateful cat and still remembers his evening snack the next morning. My Snow White will forget any extra as soon as it's gone. And when she lies herself down next to me at 5 AM, she does so expecting me to get up soon and serve her morning special. ;-)
