I fell in love with my first sable Burmese kitten. She was bred by Wendy Fulton in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. I had to choose between 6 kittens. As soon as I picked up a small sable kitten, she snuggled in and purred in contentment. There was no other possible choice for me. I called this compact flying ball of sweetness, Cinnamon.

Cinnamon was my first Burmese and I am solidly hooked on their affectionate nature and intelligence. We shared many happy cuddles and 14 wonderful years together. Sadly, she died quietly and painlessly in her sleep.

My second sable Burmese was a wee girl with the heart of a lion, the curiosity of a very intelligent cat, and a love as big as the sky!!! Her name is Kitty Grumbles as she cried for her family (she had 2 litters before she was even a year old, and her wee dog.) for 3 weeks. Even now, when we go out for a walk into new territory, she will still call for her kittens and she is now 5 years old. We walk on collar and long leash.

Her companion is a wee blue Burmese from Gizmo Cattery in Quebec. She was a year old when I got her. She instantly bonded with Kitty Grumbles and they are extremely close. She also goes out on a collar and leash...and at the same time as Kitty Grumbles.

Both of these kitties have tons of love and give it freely. They are my companions and mean the world to me. They have no house rules. I believe in letting my cats be cats. They get nothing but love and cuddles...no nail clipping and I never get upset no matter what they do or wail about.

I have been so impressed by the affectionate, loving nature of these Burmese cats...from 3 different breeders...that I am solidly hooked on the breed. You couldn't possibly get a better friend than these beautiful cats.

Thank you for a very nice article. A pleasure to read and enjoy. And may I say that you are the ideal cat companion.

I have added a picture by Helmi to illustrate the breed generally but if this is not to your liking please leave a comment and I will remove it.
