Do we know how a companion animal feels?

by Michael

This is a dog, yes, but we are talking about the feelings of a companion animal, any companion animal. It strikes me that we don't really know what is going on in the minds of our companion animals...until we see a video like this..

Companion animals don't express their feelings like we do. The dog's caretakers are genuinely surprised at the overwhelming pleasure this dog expresses when reunited with her human companion, a soldier returning home.

It is another example of how beautiful and important a relationship between a companion animal and a person is.

Lovely video
by: Ruth

That is such a lovely video, that man obviously loves his dog as much as the dog loves him.
He had no choice as he had to go away but I can't understand how some people can walk away from their trusting loving pets for selfish reasons.
We know of some cats who had their hearts broken by the betrayal of the person they loved and trusted.
Some people think animals don't have emotions, but I'm sure they do !

Reunion
by: Barbara

That was lovely, the dog was obviously as happy as the man to be reunited, I'm so pleased he took the time to give his faithful dog some love and attention right at the moment of coming home, many a one would have brushed the dog aside until later.
I love it when either one of our cats is by the gate as I walk along the Grove to our home when coming from work, when he runs to meet me, tail up, it's such a lovely welcome. Mind you, you can't rely on it, sometimes they decide to turn their backs, but that's cats for you.

Companion animals.
by: Rudolph.A.Furtado

A Merry Christmas to you Michael and all the contributors of "Pictues of Cats" that makes this forum interesting, educative ans a source of companionship..Without my companion pet cats and parakeet life would have definitely been boring with a feeling of loneliness.Modern research has also proved that humans benifit a lot from their association with their pet companions, excellent stress relievers.

Beautiful
by: Leah England

Merry Christmas Michael and thanks for sharing such a lovely video.

We should give our companions our unconditional love, compassion, understanding and keep them safe. In return they will give us their unconditional love.

My companions give me so much love and often they keep me sane in a mad sometimes horrible world. Every day they do things that make me laugh out loud.

I love them so much and they enrich my life and make me a better person.
