Fluffy Ball Of Chocolate

Admiring the view

This is a story as told by our 9 year old daughter...When I was three, we left the house and were walking toward the playground, when suddenly a black, fluffy panther-looking cat appeared.

As soon as he saw us looking at him, acknowledging and admiring his beauty, he ran towards us meowing and talking till finally stopping and keeping his loud motor boat running.(He can purr up a storm!! LOL)

We instantly fell in love with him but we weren't sure if he would be a good fit for our household with four other kitties (the Alpha a Maine Coon). After a couple of weeks, we decided to take a chance on him so we brought him to the vet and made him a member of the family.

He is absolutely outrageous when he gets going with strings, and loves to welcome other cats into his domain. When the Alpha (Vixie) passed on, we rescued a young tortoise-shell female, and now he has fun with his new sister...

Chocolate is a dark brown/black Maine Coon mix that is absolutely elegant with his over fluffed tail. He uses it to dust all furniture of equal height. What a wonderful, loving breed! We will someday get him a Maine Coon kitten to play with. He is 9 or 10 years old (we've had him for 6 1/2 years). He is very sweet.

What a muzzle
by: Finn Frode, Denmark

Hi. I like the fact that you call your Chocolate a mix, because technically that's what he is without papers - and no lesser cat for that! But with that fine square muzzle there is definitely more than a teaspoon Main Coon in him. ;-)
No wonder that you fell for this great looking cat and luckily he got on well with his new pack. I've never lived with an MC, but it is my impression that they are very gentle minded - just like Chocolate. Thank you for sharing his story and may he live long and happily.
