Is our cat Nahla a Maine Coon?

(Ontario , Canada)

Nahla is one of two family cats that add lots of fun to our hectic household (four kids that adore the cats and Sheltie family dog). We have misplaced the paperwork for Nahla and are wondering what breed or mix she belongs to. We did not get her from a breeder, so it quite possible that she is not a pure-bred (and we don't really care).

She is 1 year old, loving personality and cute. She has tufts between her claws, large plume tail, wide whiskers and smooth shaggy fur. She follows people around the house and wraps herself around someone's head to sleep at night.

From pictures on the web we think she looks closest to a Maine Coon. Could we be right?
