This is another casually made video showing how close cat and person can be. I wonder whether there is something in some people that a cat recognises and is drawn to.

I wonder if it is something as simple as the smell of the person. I don't think it is. I think a cat understands when a person is safe, friendly and not dangerous in anyway. It probably comes from the way we speak to our cat, the way we interact generally and more. There is something more I feel behind such a close bond. But I don't know what it is exactly.
I do know that cats become very, very close to some people even though on first appearance that person is not different from another member of the household that the cat is not attached to.

Cats instinctively know who they can love and trust and they also never forget if someone treats them badly. This is where they are superior to dogs, you never see a cat begging to be friends again with someone who has hurt them, like a dog does.

A cat's behavior towards us reflects our behavior towards our cat. Cats can be extremely loving and very close to us but as you say some people are frightened of cats or just plain hate them. I think a lot of the time the hate for the cat promotes a defensive attitude by the cat which in turn promotes a person's hatred. We are in charge. There is a lot of ignorance about cats too.

That is so sweet! It shows that cats are loving and affectionate, some people do not seem think they are. I believe animals and children can tell immediately if some one has a good heart.
