My Cat Freddy

by Paul Ramer
(Pensacola ,FL.)

I did a lil photo editing (I like flame designs) - Freddy my cat.

I did a lil photo editing (I like flame designs) - Freddy my cat.

I have had Freddy for 3 and a half years now. My Father said before he passed away, "I have never seen a cat love somebody as much as that cat loves you". The very night I picked him up and brought him home he got outside of the house and I thought I had lost him.

Two weeks later I received a phone call and he was two streets down at an older ladies house. I have never owned a litter box, although he stays inside more than out. With the exception of once or twice he lets me know when he needs out.

He is sleeping on top of my couch next to me right now. He is very tolerant with my little ones, they sometimes grab his hair and pull, sometimes his tail even but he seems to know that they are little and don't know any better.

He once gave my 3 year old a warning without retracting his claws - he patted her on her shoulder.

Great patience
by: Finn Frode, Denmark

Hi Paul. Solid black cats look good, but are notoriously hard to photograph - it often results in a big black blur with eyes. Your solution to that challenge is very original, thanks. ;-)
With small children in the house a loving and patient cat like Freddy is a great asset. They surely will remember him and still talk about him many years from now.

Freddy

Paul I love your picture of Freddy, it's very unusual and he is a beautiful cat.
I love it too that you accept he tapped your little one without retracting his claws.
Your children are growing up accepting that cats have claws and in your part of the world that is something to be admired, as a lot of people with children have their cats cruelly declawed.
You are obviously one genuine kind cat lover who knows cats have claws because they need them and your children will be the same:

Please help us get declawing banned.
