Ocimom

Long time ago, my parents made me declaw my first cat. I didn't know any better - no one really told me what happened. Watching your video with tears in my eyes, I asked Mitten to forgive me for what I did to him. He died of cancer in the 1980's at age 13.

I vowed after him, I would never ever declaw another cat again. I've had many cats since and all of them had/have their claws. Its not hard to trim nails, etc. And now I'm totally against declawing any cat for any reason.

Babz is right Ocimom, you are more than making up for it now !I see your brilliant answers on Yahoo Answers a lot and you are a valuable member of both our groups. The day will come when it's banned and you'll have played a part in that.

 Declawing

If you're the same Ocimom I think you are then you've more than made up for what happened to Mitten by your stance against declawing now, it obviously wasn't your choice at the time and really it's only recently that people are realising how cruel it actually is. I agree the video is heartbreaking, I can't believe anyone who has seen it would then go on to have their cat declawed. Keep the claws out, we'll beat it yet.

When I think about the fact that right this minute as I write this cats are being declawed in the USA, it makes me sad. It upsets me and makes my life worse. For the cats it is far worse.

Well done to you. Please try and convert one person to no declawing and you will then have made a positive contribution to the world.
