Pro-Claw Art

by Kathleen
(New Orleans)

In 2005, the local cultural arts center called for submissions of postcard-sized artwork on any theme or subject for a fundraising show they called "Postcards To The CAC".

I recently found a couple of photos I had of my submissions, which I'd like to share with PoC.

Both photomontages by Kathleen.

great idea
by: Kathy W

They should put your posters in every vet shop in the Usa. I recently got an ad from a new local ver and they were having declaws on sale. I got sick and wanted to write them a nasty letter. If I were a vet declawing would not be part of my criteria. I dont care how much they wanted it done. I would not go to a vet who advertises discounts on such a cruel act.

reactions
by: Kathleen

Unfortunately, I did not get to hear any reactions from people at the art show, so I couldn't say whether people found the collages shocking. If so, that's fine with me...sometimes it takes a shock to get people's attention.

Powerful stuff
by: Leah (England)

Very powerful images; very clever and lets face it theres no such thing as being too graphic when it comes to de-clawing because the reality is horrific.

I would be interested in finding out about reactions to your artwork? Were people shocked?

Powerful
by: Anonymous

I am impressed by your art work - very strong. I hope it stops at least one person from hurting their cat.
