Rella, My Beautiful Babygirl!!

by Nicole Pearce
(Southgate, Mi, USA)

My sweet little Rella

My sweet little Rella

Rella, my beautiful baby girl just turned two years old at the end of March. We always thought that she was big, not fat, but big for her age. She always is sooo furry, has big feet and has the M marking between her brows. She is the most loving kitty I have ever met. Rella is also a Polydactyl. She has six fingers on her right front paw. She is an absolutely beautiful little girl!

I was wondering if anyone knew of any Maine Coon cat shows in the Detroit Michigan area? I would love to enter her into one! Hope everyone has a great day and enjoys my pictures of my sweet little Rella!!

CFA cat show entry
by: Michael (PoC Admin)

You can pick from a number of cat associations. I chose the CFA but TICA as mentioned by Terri Harris is also a major cat association. In fact these two are the biggest. As an example, for the CFA you'll need the show rules and they say to visit a cat show first to get a feel for what goes on.

As Terri said Rella would be entered in the Household pet division. Not all but most shows have this category but it needs to be checked first.

You'll need an entry form and a show flyer. Make sure the entry is sent in in time and prepare travel carefully. The show flyer needs to be handed in on attending the show hall.

You can read all this first hand from the CFA page:

Entering Your Cat in a Show

The best people to talk to are cat breeders who show. Or the CFA but their instructions look pretty straight forward. I hope you do it!

reguarding shows
by: Rella's Momma

Thank you to both of you for your comments! If one of you can give me any information as to what I would have to do to get Rella entered into a contest and somethings that I would need to know about entering her into one, it would be greatly appreciated!! Here is my personal email address ladybug_080784@yahoo.com

Again, Thanks to both of you!!

Polydactyl Maine Coon
by: Terri Harris

A polydactyl Maine Coon would not be eiligible to enter any cat show except as a Household Pet, but we, at TICA, would love to have you enter. There is a move in TICA to get the Poly Maine Coon accepted for Championship. You can view the list of TICA shows at http://ticamembers.org/calendar/

CFA Great Lakes Region
by: Michael (PoC Admin)

Hi, Nicole. Rella is beautiful. The Cat Fanciers Association (CFA) is probably the best bet (or TICA). The CFA have a Great Lakes Region and the list the shows: Show Schedule. I note that they have a show in late July 2009, for example, just over the border in Windsor, Canada.

The CFA have a division for people whose cats are not pedigree purebreds. They call them household pets.
