TUCK - My Maine Coon Cat

I have had our Maine Coon Cat, Tuck, since he was five weeks old. He was born on February 14, 1999. I also had his sister, Nip, but she ran away the first year I had her.

I decided then to keep Tuck inside. As he has aged he is so much more lovable and personable.

He talks back to me when I talk to him. He loves to go into the tub and drink from the faucet.

In the summer when it is hot, he loves to get wet and cool off!!!

He sleeps right beside my head at night. The best advice I got when he was a kitten was to be sure and touch him alot. (His head, paws and belly and tail; that way he doesn't mind being petted, groomed and touched like some cats.)

He is primarily an indoor cat but I got him a harness and take him out on a leash for walks.

He loves being outside. Unfortunately he has kidney disease but with careful food maintenance I hope to have him for a few more years. I have always had Maine Coon cats and probably always will.

He is my best friend!!:)

Sorry

Grahame, I am sorry that the comments have been a bit unreliable. I think all of them are published now. I am in contact with the company that hosts the website to fix it.

Thanks for your patience.

Michael

How about a picture of Tuck?
by: Grahame

It would be nice to see a picture of Tuck.

This is a repost. I know that something has gone wrong with the commenting software, but many, if not most, comments seem to have trickled through. Not this one--yet. I'm sure that many of us are keen to see a picture of this fine cat.

How about a picture of Tuck for us?

Nice names
by: Michael

I like your names. Older cats do become more relaxed and better company.

Elisa has written about older cats today. It seems that you manage the outdoor problem well.

I think cats need to go out sometimes but the problem is how to do it safely.
