Warrior Cats Movie

There is bound to be a Warrior cats movie at some time in the not too distant future. Why am I so confident? Two main reasons. Firstly there is talk about it from fans and from one (or more than one?) of the authors - the following is extracted from Wikipedia:

"There are currently no planned Warriors movies; however, in an August 2008 author chat, Victoria Holmes said:

Hey, it's the movie question! Well, we are in talks with a major Hollywood production company at the moment, but it's the earliest possible stage, so there's no script yet, or any plans for a release date. Things are looking much more hopeful than they were a year ago, but I can't say there will DEFINITELY be a movie, nor can I tell you when it would come out. Sorry! But I promise I'll keep you all posted if I get any more news.

Later in the chat, Holmes stated:

Which animation studio is working on the Warriors movies? We're not at this stage yet, I'm afraid. We've got some big producers who are very interested in taking the project forward, and we may have a director who's willing to work on a script, but we're nowhere near finding an animation team or starting production. Sorry!

EDIT: Victoria has comfirmed the movie will be CGI, with very realistic looking cats. She compares the style to Aslan of Narnia. The movie will be coming out in 2011.

Not sure about this last quote. Not sure where it came from originally. Sounds made up - wrong? tell me...If the movie is all CGI (animation) then the actors would provide voices only.

And secondly, Warrior cats is absolutely made for CGI (computer generated imagery) and modern CGI has improved beyond recognition. People can look real. Cats who act like people can look real and do extraordinary things in a totally realistic way.

And of course it goes without saying that Warrior cats is very popular and has a universal appeal, a worldwide appeal. So a warrior cats movie is a must and a certainty. But it takes time to bring all the things together.

"elijah wood for fireheart? that could turn out REALLY good, or REALLY bad. lol...as long as he's not as whiney as in LOtR movies."

The only question is, when?? And as the authors and agents were in talks about making a warrior cats movie in 2008 and as it takes about 3 years, as a guess, to prepare and make a movie the 2010-11 date seems about right for a warrior cats movie.

all right.. it depends on if you want ALL animation or other stuff....

I think the cats should be all animated like Garfeild and the tail of two kittens. (gosh, I love that movie) Anyway.. I think the first series should be filmed in England since the authors said it was placed in England! And the second.. I don't know..

do you have any thoughts on WHERE they should film the movie ? what place has a forest, river, moor, and marsh all together surrounding four giant oak trees ? should they CG the whole thing ? or should they have some bits with real footage from a real location ? PLEASE ANSWER !! :)

Zac Efron simply can't voice Graystripe. He will utterly ruin the entire film, a film I've been waiting ages for! I really hate HSM and Efron really isn't a very good actor and definitely not Graystripe material. Who would be a good voice for Tigerstar? I'm thinking maybe the guy who voiced Darth Vader. It sounds kind of stupid, but it fits...

is the Seekers worth reading?

okay, ready, here's my answer . . . YES THEY ARE WORTH READING

in my opinon, not as good as the warriors, but still a good read. i own the second one and they aren't that bad. it still revolves around the whole, 'people destroy homes and hunt bears thing'
but still a good read. there's a little more magic in it. there is one bear cub that can transform into other creatures (not telling you who!! XP)

but like i said, a good read, but not as good as the warriors

wow.. umm.. I'm not sure who sound be Firestar's voice but I do like the idea of a soft voice when he comes to the forest but then gets a deeper voice. Maybe a 10 year old kid could like play Firestar's youth voice and then maybe a 20 year could play him as a leader.

THIS IS COMPLETELY UNOFFICIAL JUST A SUGGESTION LIST OF ACTORS/ACTRESSESS THAT COULD FIT INTO THE CHARACTERS OF THE BOOK TO MAKE A GOOD MOVIE
Bluestar- Obviously a female, but any women who at least sounds wise- i heard nicole kidman, im ok wit dat
Fireheart- i hate HSM but Zac effron actually souds good cuz hes so youthful and innocent, but then comes the second, third and fourth books, its gonna be hard to find someone whos voice can age with rusty-firepaw/heart/star
lionheart- liam neeson, nuff said
tigerclaw- i know it sounds cheezy but the guy who played scar, could be a good fit
sandstorm- noone has really talked about this super important character and i think that jessica alba, jennifer garner, uma thurman or megan fox perhaps cuz they all have hot sounding voices but have the possibility to bring out the kinda bitchy side of sandstorm in their voices
Brambleclaw- orlando bloom or brad pitt
Hawkfrost- viggo mortensen
squirrelflight- whichever actress above doesn't get sandstorm could fit into squirrelflight

one thing we all have to remember is that the movie cant have every major character(cuz there are a lot of them) being played by hollywood stars

okay, I think that a warriors movie would be great, but I would think of rusty having a kind of soft NOT TOO SOFT voice at the beginning of the movie, then when he becomes leader, around that time, having a deeper voice. Tigerclaw should have a voice like super deep, and junk. But, yeah, I think a movie will promote the books even more!!!! I CANT WAIT UNTIL OMEN OF THE STARS COMES OUT!!!!!

Y'know, I am quite happy about the movie. But they have gone wrong with the voices. Rihanna? Zac Effin Efron? Chris Brown? No way. D: That would ruin the film. Gawd... I would rather they'd use people who aren't so... D: I don't mind Elijah Woods, but he's a bit whiny. Zac Efron will just ruin it. Personally, he is just not Graystripe material.

my favorite character is probably squirrelflight ! she made me laugh so much with her smart mouth and sarcastic comments ! but even though her mouth was sharp, she had good intentions . she was sweet, considerate, and loved brambleclaw so much ! i just thought it was so sweet :) and she was brave and fearless, too . i honestly think you could count the things she was afraid of on one hand !

it was origanally Darkness, but SHE changed it to Dark HEART when her mom died, because she had a big heart.(her mom, Blade)-(Blade is just like um... some cat that was really kind and fair-minded... cant think of any- Spottedleaf! she was really nice right?-whyed she have to die! i loved her!)

alright first up is to anonymous: we do not know if the world is ending in 2012 . Only God knows that ! so it doesn't matter that it might be coming out in 2012 . the world might just end right now ! we don't know and i don't care what the scientists say but they have no idea when the world is going to end .
and next to iceheart: i love your writing ! that's soooo good ! i'm not that much of a scourge fan but it was still good !

I'm sorry to say this but.. Scourge already has a mother and two siblings. haven't you read the manga series? I love that book about Scourges life and you would too!! And maybe.. Darkheart (the cat) could be his step sister!!

I love these books!I've created Darkheart as my own charactor.She is Scourge's daughter,(all made up right here!)Her mother was a gray and white she-cat named Blade,(for having big claws)Sadly she died shortly after Darkheart was born.GRR!So did her father!And Blade's family!She had a brother, and he died too!(tell u that later,or not,I'm outta room!)Then Blade's brother had a son...Pebble!Yah, I love him! He's the only family Darkhart has left.THIS PART IS WEIRD!Darkheart chose her mate as Sam... He's a fox(Sorry, but i love foxes!)And he loves her too. AWW! They dont care that cats and foxes dont get along. But Tom, Sam's evil brother, wants him dead so he can become ruler of his pack.(i dont know if Tom dies or not.) HOPE YOU ENJOYED!!!

I like Zac Efron, but I do not obsess over stuff like that.
I think his voice would suit Tiger Star the most quite personally because,,
he's never played a bad guy before
it'd be a good expierence for him and he fits the part

or another good part for him would be GrayStripe
because Gray Stripe is faithful and enjoys following FireStar. Although he has good ideas.

i completely agree with olivestar4 . zac efron isn't THAT bad and i wish everyone would stop saying that they want him OR his fans to die or that you want to kill them ! it's quite mean and annoying . and unfair to respect of different people's opinions . i don't obsess over him or anything but he's really not too bad . so calm down and don't ever wish that anyone will die .
